Scion – Petro Campaign – Session 15

There’s nothing like a bit of in-group conflict to get the blood boiling. Ray and I had a little tiff about how to approach Blade and the fight we got into when we talked to him last. Our argument didn’t last long, and I backed down pretty quickly because, well, I didn’t want to cause a big stir. And, quite frankly, Ray intimidates me.
We were discussing what to do next, and I suggested that I, and maybe T-Bone, should go talk to Blade on our own, without Anna, and Ray, and other obviously aggressive sorts there. I was afraid they would send the wrong message. I guess I came across like I was blaming the others for the breakdown in negotiations with Blade last night. I didn’t mean to, but I guess that’s what I was doing. I shouldn’t have…it wasn’t their fault.
Even so, I think we approached Blade in the wrong way, and I blame myself for that because I was totally in favor of waltzing in to confront him directly without working through the right channels. Last night, we didn’t really know any better, though I really think I should have. Now we do know better, and so I’d like to try again. Maybe Blade was out to kill T-Bone last night…though I don’t think that would have done him any good, and I think Blade’s smart enough to realize that. But we also know that Blade isn’t the only person involved in the search for the map and key, and I think we can use that. Given the fact that Papa Screech more-or-less betrayed Blade, I think Blade might be willing to call a truce for the time being, and in my opinion, that’s a good thing, at least while we’re operating in his home turf. In other words, he doesn’t have to be an enemy right now. I’m not sure that Ray can see that. He doesn’t seem quite as sensitive to the value of diplomacy…but then again, he has a much more straightforward way of dealing with things.
