Elisa and Pierre’s daughter has been born! Alandra Ignacia de los Dioses is a beautiful baby girl! And Elisa’s fine. Actually, she probably had the shortest labor in history, which is good in any case but especially so given the circumstances. Anyway, I’ve had plenty of chances to hold and cuddle her and she’s just adorable!
Rose and Echo are doing fine as well. I’ve been spending as much time with Rose as possible since we got back from Trinidad. I love her SO much! ^_^ She looks so cute in some of her little outfits, especially the little blankie shaped like a bat with wings that wrap around and keep her nice and warm and a little hoodie with bat ears! ^o_o^ I haven’t worked on my music at all over the past couple of weeks, and aside from a short trip to Yomi to check on Miko (she’s as crazy as ever, but otherwise okay) I’ve barely left the house on Red Mountain. But that’s fine. My wife and daughter need my attention for the time being.
But I guess I should catch you up on how the whole Trinidad thing turned out. Well, as I last mentioned, we’d more-or-less driven the Tallyman out of town and he was, for the time being anyway, beyond our reach. With the Loa side of things taken care of, we turned our attention to the Atzlanti titanspawn. Using T-Bone’s Cheval connection to one of the dragon’s men, we were able to learn that our enemies were hiding out in a cheap motel, still in St. Lucia. We decided that we’d need to divide their forces some, so we hatched a plot to lure the giants away by “leaking” information that Elisa was hiding in one of Pierre’s safehouses and had been left undefended since the rest of us were allegedly trying to track down the Tallyman. I volunteered to pose as Elisa since I can make myself look just like her, and with Echo there, I could easily escape into the earth when the enemy came knocking (actually, I’m on the verge of mastering that power myself! ^_^).
Ray shot that idea down, though. I think he wanted me there with the rest of them, or maybe he just wanted to make sure both me and Echo were safe. In any event, we decided that Suchette would play Elisa. She can’t change her appearance to the same degree I can, but she could disguise herself enough for our purposes, especially since the enemy might not even bother to scout her hiding place before attacking. Plus, Suchette can easily escape by turning into a firefly. T-Bone got a contact number for the dragon from one of her men using Cheval, and I disguised my voice and manner as that of Oiseau, the Tallyman’s deceased vampire lover, and called to feed them info on Elisa’s whereabouts.
They took the bait and sent the giants. That just left the dragon, the Son of Cipatli, and a bunch of tzitzimime to deal with. Fun. >_<. We flew to the site of the caiman farm we’d blown up and tracked our enemies from there to the motel where they were hiding. There were only a few human guards, but the dragon queen was inside one room and Adam sensed that the Son of Cipatli was lurking somewhere in the sewers below. When the fight started, it was a good bet he’d burst up through the ground. I mean, he wouldn’t be much of a monster if he didn’t, right? ^_^ Of course, we also expected the tzitzimime to show up as soon as the fighting started.
The others spent some time scouting things out and planning the best way to attack while T-Bone and I quietly evacuated the motel’s guests so that they wouldn’t be hurt by the inevitable collateral damage. Ray warded the motel against intrusion so that once we attacked the dragon, the tzitzimime wouldn’t be able to interfere. That way we’d be able to deal with just one thing at a time. And if the Son of Cipatli showed up…well, it was my job to deal with him. *wink*
I should mention that, as usual, Jacob and I bolstered everyone against damage before the fight. I’m so glad Jacob’s been her to help strengthen me. I should mention, though, that I’ve learned to manifest a form of spiritual body armor. Mine takes the form of a sleek black catsuit. Can you say *HAWT*? ^_^ Anyway, hopefully I won’t get beat up quite as much as I used to anymore. >_< Anyway, I don’t know what came over me (a bit of capricious mischief, I suppose), but in bolstering Anna I wrapped my arms around her and gave her a deep, sensuous kiss. She pushed me away with more strength than she really needed to (it kinda hurt a lot), but it was worth it for the look of shock and bewilderment on her face! ^_^. I bet she secretly liked it. *wink*
Well, anyway, everything worked like a dream. Elisa sniped the dragon lady a split second before Ray threw a car through the wall and into her room. Even though Elisa’s shot was dead on, the dragon ignored it like it never happened, but she couldn’t withstand the barrage of attacks that followed. In only a few seconds, Ray, Adam, Anna, and Elisa had made short work of her, and she was able to do very little to oppose them. And as we predicted, the Son of Ciptali and the tzitzimime showed up to defend their mistress.
At some point before the dragon went down for good, though, Elisa went into labor. It took me a few seconds to realize why she was screaming into her headset (I mean, she’d already entered her Atzlanti “dedicated killer” mode, but still), but once I did, I was at her side even as she continued blasting away at the titanspawn with her rifle. Jacob figured out what was going on almost immediately as well, and the two of us quickly forced Elisa to lay down so that we could safely deliver her daughter. To be honest, Jacob did most of the delivering. He has a lot more experience delivering babies than I do.
As I’ve already mentioned, the labor was over in a flash, and Elisa kept fighting the whole time. It’s a good thing she uses a rifle. I’d hate to think what she would have done if she’d been using her machete; I don’t think she would have stopped fighting even then. >_< And once Alandra was born, it was up to me to hold her and keep her safe while Elisa kept going. As I cleaned away the afterbirth, I bolstered the child as well. For the rest of the battle that was the most resilient baby ever! ^_^
Like I said, though, while the birth was happening, the tzitzimime and Son of Cipatli showed up, so we had to fight them too. T-Bone ran like a blue streak through the ranks of the tzitzimime, smacking them ineffectually with his staff but slowing them down and making them easier for the others to hit. And it didn’t take Anna, Ray, Adam, Pierre, and Elisa long to finish them off. Meanwhile, I took care of the Son of Cipatli by singing him a Cradlesong just before I went to help out Elisa. It wasn’t easy, but the gigantic crocodile-like titanspawn calmed, quieted and sank into a deep slumber.
Once everything else was dead, Elisa kept pumping shots into the Son of Cipatli, but she wasn’t doing a thing to hurt it. It just slept soundly through the storm of armor piercing bullets like they were nothing. That was more than a little discouraging, and while Elisa spent her righteous fury, the rest of discussed what to do about the Son. We decided that he was just too tough for us to slay easily. Sure, we could probably do it, but it would be difficult, and we might have suffered more casualties than we were willing to face in the process, especially with the careless wrath Elisa was exhibiting. It was more important for us to get her and her child safely away.
So Ray picked up the giant crocodile monster and, with it still snoozing away, flew it up as high as he could go into the atmosphere and threw it with all his strength into space. It’s probably out there orbiting the earth, still safely asleep, and we’ll have to go and deal with it some day, but for now it’s no threat to anyone. I hope.
Once the Son was gone, we got Elisa to calm down, and I handed her baby. The transformation was amazing. One moment Elisa was a raging hellion, and the next she was as tender and gentle a mother as you’ve ever seen. *sigh* It was really touching. ^_^ And Pierre was right there beside her.
We kept the dragon’s skull, which acts as a relic that lets one breath fire. But you have to wear it, which looks a bit ridiculous. I commented that it would look really adorable if Pierre wore it over his bear suit. He wasn’t amused, but I think everyone else was. ^_^ Unless I’m mistaken, though, the skull is going into the trophy room in Ray’s fortress.
In the end, we all retired back to Pierre’s estate and had a huge party to celebrate the births of Rosa-Petra and Alandra Ignacia. I haven’t had so much fun in a long time. With all we’ve been through lately, it felt good to just be there with my friends…though I guess they’re basically more like family now. ^_^ And it feels good to be a mother. ^_^
Well, Rose needs feeding, and it’s my turn. ^_^ Until next time…
